ELLIS British Academic Suite

ELLIS is proud to present the British English versions of Intro and Middle Mastery. This software solution is a collaboration of ELLIS' development team, Cambridge Training and Development, The British Basic Skills Agency, and the University for Industry. All footage was re-shot in London, Essex, and Cambridge and is without a doubt our finest footage to date. Both modules contain entirely new themes to better provide relevant scenarios to learners studying the Queen's English. Every aspect of the program was revisited and modified to provide the ultimate EAL (English as an Additional Language) experience.

British Intro With brand new modules comes improvement. For example, British ELLIS is able to show high-resolution photographs instead of drawings in the vocabulary/dictionary section. Also included is a product orientation for the learners, which is basically a walk-through tutorial to help them understand how to use ELLIS.

Learning with ELLIS is like watching a movie with one major exception: learners can be part of the action. They can stop or repeat a scene and view the text of the scripts as they are acted out. If the native-speed dialogue is too fast, they can slow it down. Carefully enunciated audio allows learners to isolate each phrase and hear it slowly. British ELLIS features high-resolution multimedia. Also included is a product orientation for the learners, which is basically a walk-through tutorial to help them understand how to use ELLIS. They can also record their own voices for comparison to those of native speakers. Each of the thousands of listening activities in ELLIS becomes a speaking activity for the learner.

British Middle Native British teachers and pedagogues worked closely with our development team to create accurate content, from vocabulary to culture notes. British ELLIS has many of the same features as the ELLIS we all know and love. New Instructor Guides and Learner Response Books were published with entirely new content. The British Scope and Sequence is also available.

ELLIS Academic Management & Reporting System Academic Instructor Utilities tracks students’ strengths, weaknesses, progress and challenges by actively monitoring their activities from their first day with ELLIS through graduation. Instructors can quickly see where time is spent, what activities have been completed, test records, just to name a few. Instructor Utilities provides important insight into the learner’s mastery of different critical skills.
